I feel like turning a person into a Gundam is much less horrid compared to making multiple clones of humans that gets disposed once they can no longer pilot. I don't understand why the lady feels the way she's experimenting with Gundam now is any better.

I mean, at least Aerial kicks everyone's ass. That's got to be a fair tradeoff.

JadeJade • 1 year ago

It's moreso the fact that she turned her own daughter into what is basically a death machine.

I forget the reason behind it tho. My mind was too busy getting bent over by this episode that I must've missed the answer.

Aihara Mei • 1 year ago

She said Eri couldn't survive space. basically Eri died and she preserved her consciousness.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

but she looked just fine as a child :/

Vii X • 1 year ago

I have to say. Eri went savage on that dude who tried to steal 'her'. In all honesty I was hoping his head would pop. 17:36. She finally saw reason. Good for her. I swear Suletta has Asperger's though.. Coming from a person that has it.

Makaveli Musolini • 1 year ago

Hmmm, assburgass....

Aihara Mei • 1 year ago

living in a suit made for battle, which usually last a couple days at most, and a ship designed for transportation is slightly different i would assume.

Kirito • 11 months ago

I thought that was the big sister of sulleta

broodo aka Dorian Brooks • 1 year ago

Which probably explains why she was always in that space suit in Prologue

Kirito • 11 months ago

That's Probably what happened and why there's so many Eri when elan entered arial

I11110 • 1 year ago

So if her consciousness is just data why not make back-ups and mass-produce Areals with copies of her daughter consciousness?

Kai Kazuhiro • 1 year ago

That's probably Project Quite Zero, lmao.

We already see that each Gund-Bit has an Eri consciousness.

I11110 • 1 year ago

That would be obvious choice, but they seems to imply that their goal some sort of global wireless data network that would allow consciousness of MC sister travel outside of machine. It seems that bits are remote-controlled as parts of singular Areal-centered consciousness instead of having their own.

That's the problem with shows like that, with stories which play with concept of digitized copiousness like this one or " Dennou coil" - authors seems to unable to bypass mystical mumbo-jumbo concept of "soul" and threat digital copies of a person mind as software (which should be copied, redistributed and possible exist in multiple instances simultaneously), instead trying to limit existing machines with a person's copy of mind to a singular unit.

Matthew Wade Slusher • 1 year ago

each copy of data would become more and more corrupt, so I don't think that's the way to go

I11110 • 1 year ago

LOL, what kind of hardware you using that your data "becoming more and more corrupt" with each copy?
Data storage technology moved waaay forward from early stuff like Williams tubes where data corruptions really frequent and storage was only possible when the system was on.

Aihara Mei • 1 year ago

Because human consciousness is just like lego bricks

I11110 • 1 year ago

No, it's like large data center without standardized codebase which function due to higl level of on-fly hardware adaptation.
If tech level enough to decode and store it in a way that it can "booted" on another medium, like storage device of that Areal robot, it surely can be copied and redistributed too.

despite the Aerial gundam, Eri doesn't seem to be in on things that way. she technically is supporting the gundam and supporting her sister. there is a very good chance that the reason their "mother" can't pilot Aerial instead is because not only are they not close enough in bio data but because Eri actually understands her at her core. suletta is very pure at her core. despite doing what her mother says, she isn't hold deep seeded hate or other emotions and Eri is protecting that. thats why the other Elan kid or what ever his name was, could function fine in Aerial. Aerial is the body of Eri and Suletta is the nurse in a sense.

TW • 1 year ago

No your not wrong, like the very idea over acting very horrid at someone who loses their humanity when she seen countless of clones that have been killed off is really kinda.... hypocritical to judge when your working with people who does horrid shit too for how many years now.

Reemus • 1 year ago

And Bel is getting her hypocrisy thrown back at her. "I was just doing my work, I'm following my ideals" but that does not change the fact. It's the point.

All-Knighter • 1 year ago

she have the choice of letting her daughter died or turn her into a gundam .. its a desperate choice and I would even say a morally correct choice. there is still hope to reverse her into human again if it can be reversed

「RaanShi」 • 1 year ago

She made her own daughter into a war machine, and intends to use her as an instrument of her own vengeance.
I don't know if that's morally correct in my book, but it certainly is twisted.

Lv 99 Hobo • 12 months ago

from what we gathered she was going to die and Gund was made for medical purpose. the mom did it to save her. to be fair she did it to save her and use her for vengeance

Kei • 12 months ago

I agree with this point.

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

Ethics mate... There is a whole topic on it. In school they use the case study of the train alot. You have 8 people tied hostages on the train tracks. The train is going to run them over, but you have the choice of derailing the train with a switch. You can save 8 people or kill off the passenger and conductor on the train. Are the lives of the 8 people more important? You have to decide. Puts on Aristotle, the republic hat.

But then again for weebs, if they thought their cool gundam characters as the 8 hostages we would have weebs all just ditching that notion and derailing the train am I right?

Got to Be a Fair trade off. Right?

Anothis Flame • 1 year ago

The Trolly Problem can go fuck itself. The answer is you save both. You always save both. If you can't save both then you're not strong or clever enough so you should have been getting stronger and cleverer to overcome the challenges that life throws at you.

The breaks are broken on the trolley? Slow it down some other way. Pulleys and a fucking net. Won't work? Find another way. Untie the fucking people on the track what the fuck are you doing fussing over a god damn lever? Why the fuck do you not carry a God Damn knife? Not enough time? Should have been there faster. Design a better train that can survive being derailed (oh wait we did, most train derailments are actually super well prepared to be derailed and it is in fact a common intentional occurrence for maintenance)

Everything else is an excuse, a deflection. You are human and the skys themselves shall tremble before you. You are the result of over 13 trillion years of celestial and evolutionary action, starting with a god damn supernova. You are literal star dust. Act like it.

Smol Boxie • 1 year ago

dude's so mad about the trolley and it's hilarious

Anothis Flame • 1 year ago

You laugh but that just shows you don't understand the logical fallacy this famous, and stupid, ethical question proposes. It assumes you only have two options and that is never the case in the real world. If there are only 2 bad options you make a 3rd better option with will, strength, and cunning.

This fallacy is why people stay with abusers, evil prevails in the world through the inaction of good, and age old systems that no longer serve their intended function persist and cause harm.

Do not be stuck in a box. Do not restrain yourself to assumptions. You are a miracle capable of thought so find another better way. Those who invent something new are no smarter than you, they're just willing to try and try and try again until they find something that works.

Zealotan • 11 months ago

Pretty sure you dont know what the Trolley problem is meant for. Considering your answers are pretty dumb. Its a very simple, save 1 or many, with a twist to see if you would change your answer if the 1 is someone close. Since 90% of the time, people would choose to save the many.
There was never a third option in something so simple. Do not be an idiot to break a study by thinking you are smarter than the philosophers that design this for a reason.

Anothis Flame • 11 months ago

I understand the premise of the problem and my response is to reject it completely because it's stupid. It places people in a box that doesn't exist and supposes that you only have two options. That is never the case in real life or even in this stupid philosophical question. I understand that it's supposed to be a moral dilemma but here's the thing. Those philosophers are shit and the situation is shit. You want to know my answer? Do everything in my power to stop the trolley, up to and including using my own mangled body to gum up the works. That is an option. A better option would be to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the first place.

It doesn't matter if there is 1 or many or if any of them are close to me. Even one death, stranger or friend, is unacceptable and we should build the world we want with our own hands.

Alexane Rose • 11 months ago

"The answer is you save both. You always save both."
Except when reality and practicality kicks in. Reality has limits and you as a part of that inherit it as well. This isn't a story with Deus Ex machina.

"If you can't save both then you're not strong or clever enough so you should have been getting stronger and cleverer to overcome the challenges that life throws at you."
You have just described the majority of humanity in this sentence. Useless point.

"The breaks are broken on the trolley? Slow it down some other way. "
F=ma. To stop a train size mass traveling at a decently fast accelerationyou would need a tremendous force to counteract it. The problem provides for no such means ergo barring magic or a miracle it is practically impossible thus this fails.

"Untie the fucking people on the track what the fuck are you doing fussing over a god damn lever?"
Because the lever is the practical solution to diverting the train. Overcomming the friction necessary to untie a rope tight enough to keep a person there is difficult by defalt. Now add the stress of an oncomming train as per the problem, the adrenaline, the sweat, the dexterity needed, and other factors. You're not saving everybody unless your very very very VERY special. Then agian. you've probably never untied a rope before or very quickly and under a stressful scenarion for that matter so no surprises there.

"Why the fuck do you not carry a God Damn knife?"
Because there is no practical purpose for most people these days to carry a knife around with them. Most scenarios in life do not need them. Unless you wish to change the paramters of the problem so that your rant wouldn't look as dumb?

"Not enough time? Should have been there faster."
That would imply foreknowledge of the situation which is not a paramter of the problem. Even so, get there faster how? Car? How will you see it from your car in the first place. Running? From how far? Dropping in form the sky? How did you see it form the sky in the first place. Again, all practical problems that you failed to adress.

" Design a better train that can survive being derailed (oh wait we did, most train derailments are actually super well prepared to be derailed and it is in fact a common intentional occurrence for maintenance)"
Not a parameter of the problem. Useless comment.
Didn't even adress how you would derail the train. Even more useless then initially presented.
You can't add a +1 to a 2+2 problem because you want 5

"Everything else is an excuse, a deflection."
Or just the physical reality of the situation which you are bound to. Period.

"You are human and the skys themselves shall tremble before you."
I think that's you trembling form the strom the sky just brought the hurricane force winds up. Then agian, such is difficult to reazlie when you're this delusional

" You are the result of over 13 trillion years of celestial and evolutionary action, starting with a god damn supernova. You are literal star dust. Act like it."
Starmatter which radiates the darkness of the void is enslaved to its speed limit no matter how hard it tries as you are enslaved to the trolley problems physical reality of only being able to save one group of people

YOU ARE NOT a protagonist with Deus Ex Machina or a God. You are NOT a God that can will things into exitence. There are limits and relaities as a human that to HAVE to live with and it takes true strength to realize that. Unless you are one but that is just another parameter to the problem that needs to be added to make your SILLY little rant not stupid.

You are a result of starmatter. Give it the dignitiy it deserves but not typing such idealistic, wishful, and ignorant DRIVEL like this

Anothis Flame • 11 months ago

You must live in such a hopeless world my friend and I'm sorry you see yourself stuck in such a box. The world has limitless possibilities and it seems like any argument I make is just going to get filed under "not in the original scenario" with you and be made pointless because of it even though my entire point is "you can change the original scenario".

I hope you find hope in the future but as you are now anything I say will likely come off as an attack on a core part of your worldview so I'm just going to step away.

Rigus_02 • 1 year ago

Fair trade off for a little girl's humanity?

Levi • 1 year ago

And mortality, according to Prospera Eri wouldn't have survived after syncing perfectly with Lfith

Samoan Joseph • 1 year ago

The more I learn here, the more I feel the term "witch" should apply less to the pilots and more to the designers. The pilots should be considered "sacrifices". I know how it tends to bleed over, but you should be less afraid of the pilots, who are going to burn out fast, and more of the designers, who live on and keep making cursed mobile suits.

ᗪonoᗪesu • 1 year ago

Oh god, the theory of multiple Eri was correct. 💀

Your Goddamn Right. >:)

Namico • 1 year ago

I think they are both as guilty one kill human clone to get the best pilots, other rob a human life to make a gundam (circumstance may make Suletta mother a bit less guilty but her method is inhuman if used by wrong people). I prefer Guel's group approach as they seems to be the most neutral in the story.

Shiroshiroshirosan • 1 year ago

Parish the thought, setsuna f seiei is jealous of the fact she is literally a gundam.

Mikaru Kaguya • 9 months ago

the second character in a gundam series to literally become her gundam, far as i'm aware.

I11110 • 1 year ago

It is another plot hole - if they can make perfect human clones why not produce Gundams straight with build-in cloned parts which makes operating them safe for the pilot.

Sure not entire human needed for this since that lost child somehow "turned into the particles" (so no brain or any complex parts since it stated Areal contains just vaporized human but somehow "alive", likely because the writes skipped biology lessons and don't know how brain works) and it is enough for machine to be safely piloted by another human.

Method for transfer stated as "transfer of biometric code" but it is makes plot even sillier - so if only copying of some sort of data into machine OS made such breakthrough why not make it's back-up and mass-produce safe Gundams with that copied "biometric code" of her daughter.

Elias001 • 1 year ago

I think Eri's consciousness ended up being either preserved in the form of biometric code because she couldn't handle the Lfrith on full and also the issue of surviving in space, probably meaning surviving combat in space inside a Gundam because of the high permet score needed.

I11110 • 1 year ago

If that's the code which was transferred from person to machine storage, why that "biometric code maker machine" not make a copy during the transfer?
That's the huge plot hole - if tech is advanced enough to fully digitize person mind and transfer it's to another media there is no reason not to make a copy during the transfer.

Then plug-in people with high permet score into machines with "human/machine OS" and voila, you got an army of mass-produced Areals.

outof all the mask person in the franchise
prospera is the one that give me the chills

Douglas Stewart • 1 year ago

Yeah, I'm with you there. Out of all the Char Clones of the Gundam franchise, Prospera is one of the more unnerving ones.

Also nice pic of best Summertime Render girl by Hara.

arra1213 • 1 year ago

lmao that guy's work is like straight out from the anime
turn a im on ep14 but instead of mask what we got is a shade guy lol

Dazed • 1 year ago

Her calmness and her sarcastic way of speaking with the tone of her voice getting higher & more playful.

It would be more curious if it didn't give you chills or weirded you out.

broodo aka Dorian Brooks • 1 year ago

Bitch be crazy

Linkyubie • 1 year ago

Right but still can't beat char tho

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

I didnt see any other masks? Are you speaking figuratively? Prospera is the only one with a physical one. While the mastermind and Elan all have their own masked identity...

There is a reason the gundam franchise loves to use the mask. The mask could easily be compared to Char's mask. Huge symbolism behind it considering we as the audience know how horrific char was as a character.

arra1213 • 1 year ago

if u read the part where i said
franchise then probably your aware that the msg, seed, wing, reconguista are part of it lol
yeah but of them all prospera is the one that stand out for me
but of course char will always be the legend specially after watching origin
